Earlier this week, amid the impasse over the next title challenger, Cormier even stated that he might postpone knee surgery if given the chance to face Jones. However, with the confirmation that the Swede will fight the champion in September, Cormier ruled out another fight in 2014 and hopes to be able to fight for the title next year.
