Marcio Alexandre Lyoto believes that patience will be a fundamental factor in winning the TUF Brasil 3 season title in the middleweight category. This Saturday (31), the fighter faces Warlley alves in the grand final of the tournament, which will be held at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in São Paulo (SP).
Warlley, Lyoto's teammate on the Chael Sonnen, was one of the biggest highlights of the edition. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the Santa Catarina native stated that he already has the ideal strategy in his head to achieve victory. “In his fights with Marmota and Wagnão, we couldn't see much, because they were very quick fights. The fight he had to study him a lot was against Wendell Negão, who made him enter the house. I think the way forward will be patience, waiting for the right moment to connect the blows. He will be aggressive, but I will try to keep my distance, make him tire a little and impose my game. Whoever defines the best strategy will be able to win”, explained the fighter.
Lyoto spent a good part of his time at home having to deal with an injury to his left foot, which made it difficult for him to play his game. This time, already recovered, the fighter hopes to present an even more efficient performance in the decision. “I'm 100% recovered, 100% prepared, ready to do three intense rounds in this fight. What will make the difference is my movement. As my foot is good, I will be able to move well for this fight”, he commented.

The athlete stated that the injury was serious enough to make the program's producers consider his departure. The one who saved his skin was his trainer, Chael Sonnen, who asked them to give Lyoto a chance to recover. “When I injured my foot, it swelled a lot. The production people thought I wouldn't be able to recover to do the second fight, in this case the semifinal. I ran the risk of leaving the program. I found out later that they called another athlete to get ready, as I might leave. At that moment, the one who helped was the Chael Sonnen, who said I would recover. I hadn't broken anything, it was just a dislocation. I had a few days of tension, but thank God it wasn’t a big deal,” she explained.
the fight between Marcio Lyoto e Warlley alves is part of the main card of TUF Brasil 3 Final, which also features Vitor miranda x Antonio Carlos Shoe Face, Demian Maia x Alexander Yakovlev, Ron Jason x Robbie Peralta and Fabio Maldonado x Stipe Miocic.
