Barão loses five positions in ranking after defeat to Dillashaw

Brazilian is now the eighth best pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC; new champion joins the list, in 11th

The defeat suffered by TJ Dillashaw at UFC 173 it was costly for Renan Barao. In addition to losing the UFC bantamweight belt, the Brazilian fell in the organization's official weight-for-weight ranking, updated this Tuesday (27).

Barão lost five positions on the list and is now in eighth place, being overtaken by Cain Velazquez, Demetrious Johnson, Chris Weidman, Anthony Pettis e Anderson Silva. The leader continues to be Jon Jones with José Aldo in second position. On the rooster list, however, the loss was smaller. Barão is first placed in his category, still ahead of Urijah faber e Raphael Assunção.

The new champion made a big leap in the weight-for-pound list. Dillashaw joined the ranking in 11th place, leaving behind Vitor belfort, Benson Henderson, Alexander Gustafson and Gilbert Melendez.

The ranking also presented changes in the light heavyweight category. Daniel Cormier, which ran over Dan Henderson at UFC 173, surpassed Rashad evans e Glover Teixeira to be in second position, behind only Alexander Gustafson. Hendo, in turn, lost position to Phil Davis and now it's the seventh.
