“Create courage and tell everyone why I’ve been missing here these last two years. They were the worst years of my life, but I'll tell you all the details. I didn't believe someone could be so bad. A criminal, a person who committed crimes before being with me and after. A person with money, asking for pension, my bags and earrings. Asking for my house, using the name Garcia, married with a child, using my last name. Even with the protection and the Maria da Penha Law by my side, he didn't stop. There were 19 frauds on my cards, three banks where he closed my accounts. He sent people to intimidate me,” Gabi wrote.

In the final part of the text, the jiu-jitsu legend said that she intends to inspire other women to report the abuse and aggression they suffer and revealed that she will only rest until she puts her ex-husband in jail.

“Let’s believe in our law. My parents were depressed, I couldn't leave the house. But I have some wars to finish. I will tell you every detail to help women who suffer abuse. My mission is to help more women not suffer in silence. I had serious health problems on my own. I suffered so much abuse that only those who are with me understand. Bills, emails, cards! No money will pay for the trauma he left on me and my family! I will not give up putting you in jail and forever remembering your daughter: 'abuser'. I spent two years keeping quiet and getting beaten up. Your time has come”, concluded the fighter.

One of the biggest names in jiu-jitsu history, Gabi Garcia is a nine-time world champion, four-time ADCC champion and 11-time Pan-American gold medalist. In MMA, the fighter from Rio Grande do Sul was part of the squad at the Japanese event RIZIN and has an MMA record of six wins, one draw and one no-contest.
