The semi-finalists for TUF Brasil 3 have been defined. In the 10th episode of the series, shown late this Sunday night (11), Marcos Foot, from the team Chael Sonnen, defeated Jollyson Francino, from the team of Wanderlei Silva, and secured the last spot among the heavyweights.
he joins Vitor miranda, Antonio Shoe Guy e Rick Monster in search of a contract with the UFC. In the last program, the middleweight semifinalists had already been defined. Warlley alves e Marcio Lyoto represent Chael's team, while Wagnão Gomes, Ricardo Demente They fight for Wanderlei's team.
The fight
The last fight of the quarterfinals started hot and controversial. Pezão started working on his striking, but Jollyson looked for the clinch and tried to work close to his opponent, trying to take the fight to the ground.
Despite preferring to fight with striking, Pezão felt comfortable and decided to risk the guillotine. Despite the hit, Jollyson managed to free himself and stay on top on the ground. But Pezão managed to get out of the unfavorable position and returned to the fight on his feet.
Then came the most controversial moment of the fight. The Sonnen team fighter fell to the ground on top and began to strike his rival, but Jollyson asked for the fight to be stopped, claiming that Pezão had bitten his finger. “It bit my finger! What is this, cockfighting? Is it a rinha? He bit my finger, brother, (he has to be) disqualified”, insisted Jollyson.
Despite the complaint, the fight continued normally, as the central referee believed that there was no intention in the bite, as the fighter had placed his finger inside Pezão's mouth.
In the second round, Marcos released the game and opened up the front. He landed the best strikes in his striking, got a takedown, weighed in and threw several punches from above until the end of the fight. After 10 minutes, victory for Marcos Foot in the judges' decision.
Definition of the semifinals
As soon as the semifinalists were defined, Dana White, president of the UFC, called the coaches and the classified fighters chose who would be the best opponent for them in the semifinals.
Wagnão Gomes chose to face Lyoto. Interestingly, Lyoto also asked to face Wagnão. Warlley asked for a fight against Demente, who in turn preferred not to choose an opponent.
Among the heavyweights, Vitor miranda selected teammate Rick Monster, Pezão challenged Shoe Face. In its turn, Shoe Face e Rick Monster they preferred not to choose an opponent.
