The information about the serious injury was revealed by Glover's trainer, John Hackleman. The coach did not hide his disappointment at his pupil's injury, but praised the Brazilian's determination, who did not give up the fight despite torn shoulder tissue, as well as a deep cut on his eyebrow, caused by an elbow from Jones.
“When I found out, my heart was broken. If I had known, I probably would have stopped the fight, even if everyone hated me. He simply struggled with a torn labrum and kept swinging. He didn't run away, he walked forward and fought. It's unbelievable to think about facing Jones for five rounds like this. And we're not slighting Jones because he caused the injury.
