UFC 172 has barely been announced and Vagner Rocha is already out of the event, which will be held next Saturday (26) in Baltimore (USA). Vagner had been announced as Yanci Medeiros' replacement for the fight against Joe Ellenberger earlier this week, but he was injured in the final stretch of his preparation and also ended up cut. Faced with the new unforeseen situation, Ultimate decided to remove the fight from the night's card, which will now only feature ten fights.
The fight at UFC 172 would mark Vagner's return to the most famous octagon on the planet. He worked for the organization in three fights between January 2011 and February 2012. In his first stint, the Brazilian beat Cody McKenzie and was defeated by Donald Cerrone and Jonathan Brookins. After leaving Ultimate, Rocha had four fights for the “Fight Time” event, won them all and became the organization's champion.
UFC 172 takes place next Saturday (26), at Baltimore Arena, in Baltimore (USA). In the main fight of the night, the Brazilian Glover Teixeira, undefeated for nine years, faces the champion Jon Jones for the light heavyweight category belt. In the co-main event, Anthony Johnson returns to Ultimate after a good run in WSOF and faces the dangerous Phil Davis.
