The recent dominance of Jon Jones in the light heavyweight category made it seem like a confrontation with the champion in the top division, Cain Velazquez, it was a mere matter of time. The 93 kg champion himself I had already considered this possibility. However, it seems that he changed his mind.

Jones stated, in a conference call held this Monday (21), that his plans to move to the heavyweight division were momentarily put aside due to the large number of challengers that emerged in his category. This Saturday, at UFC 172, the North American makes his seventh title defense against Glover Teixeira; then, if he wins, he will have to have a rematch with the Swede Alexander Gustafson, Daniel Cormier e Phil Davis are also on your radar.
