Scheduled for this morning, the Japanese stage of the M-1 Challenge features a very curious grappling challenge. Lightweight Shinya Aoki faces heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko. Considered as the fighter who best applies jiu-jitsu in MMA, Demian Maia commented on the confrontation.
“Aoki is a good jiu-jitsu fighter and it is possible for him to win the fight even if he is lighter. I've seen this happen several times in cloth championships, so he has a chance of winning. But Fedor is a great fighter too and considering his weight he has the advantage, but it’s not impossible for Aoki”, commented the black belt.
