Sonnen: 'Wanderlei and I will look back and see how stupid we were with that fight'

Chael Sonnen e Wanderlei Silva featured in the most controversial moment of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 3. In the episode that aired in the early hours of this Monday (13), the two coaches went into a fight, being separated by the other coaches and the fighters participating in the program.

The atmosphere between Sonnen and Wanderlei is not good. However, the North American believes that, one day, the two will look back and regret their actions – mainly due to the fact that the fight took place in an inappropriate location.

“Wanderlei and I had a very documented incident. You could say we had an argument. And it wasn't just with our mouths. They were more than words. And I think, when Wanderlei and I look back, of all the places we could have had this discussion – we have a padded wall, we have an entire octagon. But not. We decided to have this discussion in the only place it doesn't make sense – over concrete. Now, we are mad at each other, but one day we will see that we acted like two idiots that day,” said Sonnen, in a video released by the UFC.

Despite the incident with Wanderlei's team – which also included the Brazilian team's assistant coach, André Dida, who attacked the North American from behind –, Sonnen praised all participants in the program. “All the people here are brilliant, all the coaches get along well. Everyone except Wanderlei and me. Wanderlei and I butted heads. Wanderlei told his team that he doesn’t want them to talk to me, that he doesn’t want us to have any type of relationship”, explained Sonnen.
