After an impressive knockout over one of the greatest legends in the history of the MMA heavyweight category, Rodrigo Minotauro, there was no surprise when Roy Nelson be announced as one of the fighters awarded the “Performance of the Night” bonus at UFC Fight Night 39, this Friday (11), in Abu Dhabi (UAE). For the award, the North American earned US$50 (approximately R$120).
In addition to “Gordinho”, lightweight Ramsey Nijem also won the award for his performance on the night. Ramsey achieved his second consecutive victory in Ultimate after beating the Iranian Beneil Dariush by knockout in the first round.
Finally, the organization awarded the co-main fight of the night, between the North American Clay guida and the Japanese Tatsuya Kawajiri, as the best fight of the event. Guida and Kawajiri dueled for three rounds with “Carpinteiro” being declared the winner by unanimous decision of the judges after the regular time. They each also took home $50.
