Former title challenger Nate Diaz complains about UFC salary again: 'I'm broke'

President of the organization, Dana White, did not like the criticism and replied: 'Go back to work, Nate'

Nate diaz he once again expressed his dissatisfaction with his salary within the UFC. In an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the former lightweight title challenger stated that he is bankrupt and that, within Ultimate, he will not be able to receive the money he believes he deserves.

Nate, younger brother of Nick Diaz, has been criticizing the UFC's policy regarding fighter pay for months. Recently, the American publicly asked to be released from his current contract, which covers five more fights within the organization.

“If I get released from my contract, I can fight somewhere else and make more money. If they can renegotiate, I would make more money, because now I'm broke. For some reason, the IRS is telling me that I owe them more money than I have, and I pay my taxes every year,” said the 28-year-old fighter.

Diaz believes that other UFC professionals, such as ring girls, commentator and announcer, they make more money than him. “In what other professional sport do cheerleaders Do they make more money than athletes? I'm sure Arianny Celeste, Brittney Palmer, Joe Rogan, Bruce Buffer, they all make more money than me,” she suspects. “No one trains harder than me in the UFC, and there are boxers out there getting multi-million dollar contracts. I'm a bigger attraction than boxers. It's shameful. I think I’m the biggest attraction in the lightweight division.”

UFC president, Dana White, took a stance on the criticism made by Nate diaz. Also in an interview with “MMA Fighting”, the organization's boss recalled the recent defeats suffered by the fighter, against Benson Henderson and Josh thomson. “He loses two fights and thinks he deserves even more money? On what planet does this make sense? Now, he comes from victory over Gray Maynard and thinks he should earn the same amount as Justin Bieber”, he criticized.

According to White, lately Diaz has been more concerned with criticizing the UFC than fighting. “Nate needs to get his head straight and start fighting, winning fights and deserve to fight for the title again. Guess how much he will earn staying at home? Zero. Get back to work, Nate.”
