Anderson Silva revealed that he is taking a course to become a police officer in the city of Los Angeles, in the United States, where he currently resides. The former UFC middleweight champion, however, stated that he has no intention of working in the profession, having started the course to please an uncle.

According to the fighter, police activity is a tradition in his family. “I’m studying to be a police officer. It's a personal wish and it's something I'm going to be making my uncle happy about. I won't work directly as a police officer, but I will graduate. My uncle thought it was a bit strange, he said 'why didn't you do that here [in Brazil]?', but it didn't work. My brothers are police officers, my nephews, it’s a family thing,” he said, in an interview with the “TV Folha” program, from the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo”.

Despite the new activity, Anderson once again assured that he wants to return to the UFC octagon. However, a new title fight is not in his plans. “Everything I wanted to do within the sport, I did. I want to fight again because it's something I like to do, something I feel good about, but I have no intention of doing any rematch. These were things that happened, I was defeated, and if I qualify to compete for the title again, I will fight, but I don't have that as my focus”, he concluded.
