Fighter Cody McKenzie revealed this week, through his Twitter account, that he is no longer part of the list of UFC athletes. The 26-year-old North American joined Ultimate in 2010, after participating in the 12th season of reality show The Ultimate Fighter.

Trained in the program by Georges St Pierre, McKenzie reached the quarter-finals, losing to Nam Phan. In the UFC, he played in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions and achieved three victories against four defeats. In the last one, he lost to Sam stout at UFC on FOX 9 in December.

In addition to announcing his resignation, McKenzie took to Twitter to try to secure his future within the international MMA scene. “I'm no longer in the UFC and I'm looking for promoters who want me. I want to fight anyone! Do me a favor and pass on this message. I want to face Shinya Aoki because I know there are some fans who want to see this fight,” he wrote.

Furthermore, McKenzie's messages were also intended for Ray Sefo, president of the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). “Hey, Ray Sefo, do you have a phone number so we can talk about me fighting in WSOF?” he asked.

Despite the messages, McKenzie's name is still on the list of fighters on the UFC's official website. In his seven-year professional MMA career, he has a record of 14 wins and four losses. Twelve of his victories came via submission, most of them via guillotine chokes.
