When I said I wouldn't return to the octagons in 2014, Anderson Silva surprised many fans who were excited about the progress of his recovery from the fracture he suffered in his left leg during the rematch against Chris Weidman – on December 28, 2013. On Wednesday night (26), Spider revealed that he would be able to return this year, but that he will not do so of his own free will.

"I am fine. From zero to ten, I'm nine. But I won't be back until next year. I would be prepared to fight this year, but I'm not going to. Only next year”, said Anderson in an interview on the “Combate” channel website. The athlete's own confirmation justifies his position and refutes the rumors that his return would take place at UFC 181, on December 27th, just one day after completing one year since his fracture.
