The new welterweight champion John hendricks He will have another great reason to always remember the night he won his Ultimate belt. This Monday (17), just under 48 hours after the title, Hendricks used his Twitter to show off the unusual gift he received from the organization: the tarpaulin used in the UFC 171 octagon.
“The UFC 171 canvas. There’s definitely a bit of my DNA there. Now, it's in my gym. Thank you very much Dana White!”, wrote the fighter through his official profile on the microblogging network. Along with the text, Hendricks released an image of the canvas open over the octagon at his gym.
This is not the first time that Dana White has decided to reward an athlete with the canvas used in a big fight in which he was involved. After UFC 155, in December 2012, White presented Joe lauzon with the canvas used in the event, because of his victory over Jim Miller in the bloody battle held on the night's main card.
