The fight between John hendricks e Robbie Lawler was the main attraction of UFC 171, an event held last Saturday (15), in Dallas. But in the second most important fight of the show, an unusual injury defined the outcome of the confrontation.
Number two in the welterweight rankings, Carlos Condit found it difficult to impose his game against Tyron woodley. In the second round, Woodley threw a low kick to the left leg and made Condit turn his body, but his right knee got caught and ended up injured. He already fell into the octagon screaming in pain. The injury ended the fight and could complicate the future of the former interim champion's career.
Condit was taken to the hospital shortly after the end of his fight and will undergo an MRI this Monday to assess the extent of the injury. But according to his coach, Mike Winkeljohn, he may have suffered damage to the meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
