Daniel Cormier ignores Fedor and names 'the greatest' heavyweight of all time

The former UFC champion showed respect for the Russian legend, but stated that Stipe Miocic is the greatest athlete in the history of the 120,2kg division

After the retirement of Fedor Emelianenko, people began to discuss more intensely who would be the 'greatest' heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) of all time. In a statement on his ESPN program, 'DC' ignored the Russian legend and aimed at the most noble division of martial arts.

“I don't believe that Fedor Emelianenko Be the greatest heavyweight of all time. I think this post belongs to Stipe Miocic, but only because Cain Velazquez got hurt a lot. I think, in terms of skill, there is no one who has equaled Cain Velazquez at heavyweight,” Cormier said.

The former Ultimate champion justified his opinion on the Russian legend and emphasized his choice for Stipe Miocic.

“But I believe that the title defenses of Stipe Miocic and the long reign he has had at the top of the division puts him at the top. But Fedor is in the top five, and I don’t think that’s something to be ashamed of,” concluded the former champion.

The 'Last Emperor' hung up his gloves last Saturday (04) at Bellator 290. Protagonist of the event, Fedor was knocked out in the first round by Ryan bader, heavyweight champion.
