For any MMA fan, or even casual spectators, the song “Ain’t no Sunshine”, by American rapper DMX, is synonymous with Anderson Silva. All it takes is for the first notes to echo through an arena that hosts the UFC and the public already knows that Spider is about to enter. Therefore, after the UFC 171 press conference, amid strong speculation about Anderson's hypothetical return to the octagon after the fracture suffered in the rematch against Chris Weidman, Dana White was asked about the chance of DMX joining the Brazilian in his next fight and welcomed the idea.

“I think it makes sense that he enters with Anderson, since the song he enters to fight is his. The other day a fighter asked for permission to use ‘Ain’t no Sunshine’ as his entrance song and he denied it. He said it's Anderson's song and only he can use it. I'm in, I'm in. Just get it right with him”, said the manager to the “MMA Heat” website.

Also contacted, the rapper was very excited about the idea. “Dana, DMX here. I just found out that I will have the chance to enter with Anderson Silva on his return to MMA. I would love it, it would be an honor. If it were possible, I would like to spend a week with him, watching him train. I wouldn't even need to do anything, just watch him train. I really want to be part of this, motivate him, inspire him, root for him. I’m in!”, said the musician, who completed the statement with a snippet of the song “Ain’t no sunshine”.
