Nobutatsu Suzuki won, this Friday (14), the inaugural welterweight title of the Asian organization ONE FC. The 36-year-old Japanese fighter defeated Brock Larson after a five-round fight, winning a unanimous decision from the judges. The event was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Furthermore, Suzuki already knows against whom he will defend his first belt. In May, he is expected to face former Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren, who was scheduled to challenge the new ONE FC title holder.
With the victory, Suzuki extends his undefeated streak at ONE FC, as he had beaten veteran Phil Baroni in May last year. Overall, he has a record of 11 wins, one loss and two draws.
