At the end of last year, one of the main issues behind the scenes at the UFC was the disagreement between Georges St Pierre and Dana White. The friction began with the Canadian's statements about the organization's alleged negligence with anti-doping tests, right before his fight against John hendricks. After the fight at UFC 167, the atmosphere did not improve, as Dana was unhappy with St. Pierre's victory by decision of the judges and expressed his desire for an immediate rematch with Hendricks. Despite everything, however, GSP does not see the disagreement with the leader as something personal.

“Lorenzo (Fertitta) is the boss. You have to understand, I'm not afraid or angry at Dana White. He's the prosecutor. He said things and I didn't take them personally. Dana is the face of the business. He is a promoter and his role, as a businessman, is to want to get that rematch (against John hendricks) because it would attract a large audience. That's his role. He doesn't care if you like it, love it or hate it, he wants you to fit in. This is Dana White's main role. He's a prosecutor. He's probably the best promoter in the world right now, among all sports”, said the former welterweight champion in an interview with the program “Off the record”, on the Canadian channel TSN.

St. Pierre also spoke about his indefinite retirement from MMA and that it is a hiatus and not his definitive retirement. “It’s not a retirement. I would say it's more of a break, because I still don't know if I'm going to retire or not at the moment. I just knew I needed a break from competing. I started doing this for fun. Then fun became a business. Then it wasn't fun anymore. It was a lot of pressure”, revealed the Canadian. At 32 years old, Georges St Pierre has a record of 25 wins and just two defeats. The former welterweight title holder holds the record for victories in UFC history, with 19 triumphs, and defended his belt nine times before abandoning his position as champion to step away from the sport.
