Durinho accuses Chimaev of avoiding fights against Brazilian UFC stars and explains the reason for his refusals

Exclusively to SUPER LUTAS, fighter criticizes the Swede's change in stance within the organization

Former opponent of Khamzat Shimaev in the UFC, Gilbert Durinho was disappointed with the attitude of the Ultimate promise. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the Brazilian accused the 'bogeyman' of refusing confrontations against Alex Poatán e Paulo borrachinha. The Niteroi native also explained what he believes to be the reason for the denials.

“I knocked him down (Chimaev, in UFC 273), imagine Poatan. If I gave a knockdown in it, Poatan's hand must be very heavy. I took it down and he (Chimaev) keeps talking nonsense to these guys. Poatan’s hand is huge, Borrachinha’s is huge”, said Durinho.

The Brazilian then criticized what he considers to be a change in Chimaev's stance within Ultimate. According to the Niteroi native, the promise of Ultimate may have lost focus amid its success.

“It’s not that he (Chimaev) lost his way. He didn't find himself. Things happened very quickly for him. After three fights, he was already the man. At first, I really liked it. He challenged and fought. Then he broke character. Give up on making weight, confusion here and there. I like this style, the guy who challenges everyone. There is no bad weather,” he concluded.
