The UFC Fight Night 37 card, which takes place on March 8th, suffered a huge loss this Thursday (13th). In a meeting with the press in Las Vegas (USA), president Dana White revealed that flyweight Ian McCall was injured and was cut from the event in London.
At UFC Fight Night 37, McCall would face Brad pickett on the main card of the night. The duel marks Pickett's debut at flyweight, after almost four years as a bantamweight – since he was still playing for the now-defunct WEC. Ultimate has not commented on a possible replacement for Ian McCall on fight night or even the removal of the fight from the card.
It is worth remembering that UFC Fight Night 37 is an event considered key for the organization in its new digital media broadcast planning. This is because the event in London will be the first card broadcast via “UFC Fight Pass”, a content platform on-demand organization, after the service is free of charge. To follow the fight night in the United States, the public will have to start a monthly subscription plan worth US$9,99 (approximately R$24).
