the situation of Daniel Cormier, who almost missed out on UFC 170, left Chael Sonnen furious. With just over a week to go before the event, which will take place on February 22nd, Cormier's original opponent, Rashad evans, had to withdraw from the fight due to a knee injury. Sonnen immediately offered to replace him, but the chosen one was rookie Patrick Cummins.

In an interview with North American television channel Fox Sports, Sonnen expressed discomfort with the fact that he was one of the few to offer to face Cormier. “DC is a top fighter. The fact that people don't jump at the chance to confront him not only confuses me, it infuriates me. The UFC is infested with cowards. If you are a light heavyweight, don't have a fight scheduled and haven't offered to face Cormier, please, I beg you, leave the UFC,” said Sonnen.
