Without an opponent since Francisco Rivera was cut, the Brazilian Raphael Assunção will face his compatriot Peter Munhoz at UFC 170. Scheduled just twelve days before the event, Pedro, former bantamweight champion at the RFA event, will make his debut in the main MMA organization on the planet. The information, initially released by the “MMA Sun” website, was confirmed by Ultimate management to the “MMA Fighting” website.
At 27, Peter Munhoz has an undefeated record of ten victories. The São Paulo native performed in several events on the national circuit, including the Jungle Fight, until moving to the United States and arriving at Resurrection Fighting Alliance. In RFA, “The Young Punisher”, as he is known, had his last four fights, including a victory over veteran Jeff Curran, ex-UFC and cousin of Pat Curran, in the bantamweight title fight.
