Gegard Mousasi Don't believe you will be surprised by Lyoto Machida in the fight that will be the main attraction of UFC Fight Night 36, in Jaraguá do Sul, next Saturday (15).

Machida has long been considered one of the fighters with the most unpredictable style inside the Octagon, with movement brought from unconventional karate in MMA. Mousasi, however, tried to guard against this, bringing Dutch karateka Jaouad Ikan to his training.

“I trained with Jaouad Ikan, he is a friend who I have always trained with, but he is also a karateka. He's even faced Machida twice, I think, in karate. He imitates Machida in exactly the same way. I learned a lot from him. At least I know what to expect from the fight”, said Mousasi, in an interview with the North American website MMA Heat.

Ikan was also part of the training of Fedor Emelianenko for his MMA farewell, in 2012, against Pedro Rizzo. He has a professional fight in mixed martial arts, with a submission loss in 2010.
