Joseph Benavidez will return to the UFC Octagon in edition number 172, in Baltimore, United States. On April 26th, he will face Tim Elliott in a combat valid in the flyweight category.
Benavidez will try to recover from the tough defeat he suffered against Demetrious Johnson, in December. In a fight worth the division's belt, the athlete from the Alpha Male academy was knocked out in the opening moments of the fight, losing for the second time to the champion.
Elliott, 27 years old, is also coming off a defeat. He lost to Ali Bagautinov at UFC 167 in November, via judges' decision. In four fights in the UFC, he has two wins and two losses, having also lost to John Dodson in his debut.
The main fight of UFC 167 will be a light heavyweight title fight between the champion, Jon Jones, and the challenger, Glover Teixeira. Another representative from Brazil has already been confirmed at the event: Bethe “Pitbull” Correia will face Jessamyn Duke.
