the future of José Aldo It should really be the lightweight category. After defeating Ricardo Lamas at UFC 169 and defending the featherweight belt for the sixth time, the Brazilian revealed his desire to challenge Anthony Pettis, for the top division title.
Although André Pederneiras, Aldo's coach, stated that the matter would only be dealt with after the clash with Lamas, members of the Manauara team were already envisioning the change of category even before the official UFC 169 weigh-in.
After passing the scale visibly weakened, Aldo tried to eat before giving interviews to television stations. When starting hydration with supplements and some fruits, the Brazilian received encouragement from some training colleagues. 'This is the last one', a team member told the champion.
In conversation with our reporter, another member of Aldo's team revealed the champion's difficulties in making weight. 'He is very tired. This process of cutting weight makes him quite stressed,' he said. 'It's very difficult for him,' he added.
Despite finding it difficult to reach 66 kg. in the featherweight category, Aldo never failed to reach his goal. However, he never hid the fact that the final weight-cutting process was what bothered him most about a fight.
Now, in the possible migration to the lightweight division, the Brazilian will have a greater weight tolerance: 70,3 kg. to 1,70cm tall.
Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!

I think José Aldo, even at welterweight, would win. The guy is very focused, in addition to having a very high level of Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. The guy is also a great defender of takedowns. It is COMPLETE.
