Barão, Aldo, Faber and Lamas make weight without any problems for UFC 169

The two UFC 169 title fights are confirmed. This Friday (31), in New Jersey, in the United States, Renan Barao, Urijah faber, José Aldo and Ricardo Lamas had no difficulty reaching the weight limits of their divisions, which will put the UFC bantamweight and featherweight titles at stake.

Barão, now lineal champion in the bantamweight category, reached 61,2 kg, exactly the division limit. His rival, Faber, was 200 grams lower. Shortly after leaving the scale, the two had a tense, although respectful, look.

Aldo, who will defend his hegemony at featherweight for the sixth time, also had no problems reaching 65,7 kg on the scale. Like the other challenger in the event, Lamas was also below the maximum weight, weighing 65,5 kg.

Another Brazilian on the main card, John Lineker once again suffered when he reached the flyweight category limit. Weighing immediately using the towel, the man from Paraná was one pound (0,45 kg) above the permitted weight, so he needed an hour to lose the remaining amount. On his second attempt, however, he weighed 57,1 kg and escaped any fine or punishment from the UFC. In six fights in the UFC, Lineker failed to make weight in three.

Alan Nuguette, which will close the preliminary card against John makdessi, entered the weigh-in excited and was successful in reaching weight in the lightweight category.

The first fights of UFC 169 will start at 21pm this Saturday Brasília time.
