After a few weeks of speculation, the fighter's manager, Marcelo Brigadeiro, José Maria “Sem Chance” confirmed that the athlete is no longer part of the Ultimate squad. José Maria only had two fights in the organization and was defeated on both occasions. According to Marcelo, “No Chance” is now analyzing his performance in the octagon and studying other proposals.

“Now it’s time to sit down and analyze other opportunities. Let's analyze what he should have done to win in the UFC and move on. Even without winning in the UFC, “Sem Chance” did what we expected of him, being aggressive and putting on good fights. But when you're in a tournament as big as the UFC, the pressure is very high and sometimes you don't take the necessary precautions, and end up not winning”, said the agent, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website.
