Jake Ellenberger and Tarec Saffiedine face each other at UFC 172

The duel should have taken place in January, but the American's injury caused the UFC to postpone its plans

The Ultimate organization announced that the North American Jake ellenberger and the Belgian Tarec saffiedine will face each other at UFC 172, in April. The duel should have taken place at UFC Singapore, on January 4th, but an injury to Ellenberger caused him to withdraw from the card and be replaced by South Korean Hyun Gyu Lim. On that occasion, Saffiedine came out on top, winning by unanimous decision.

At 28, Jake ellenberger has a record of 29 wins and seven losses. The North American has won eight of his last ten fights, but is coming off a defeat to the Canadian Rory McDonald, in July 2013. Now Tarec saffiedine has a record of 15 wins and three losses. The former champion of the now defunct Strikeforce comes from five consecutive victories, the most recent of which was on his UFC debut.

UFC 172 takes place on April 26th, at Baltimore Arena, in Baltimore (USA). In the main fight of the night, the Brazilian Glover Teixeira, undefeated since 2005, faces the champion Jon Jones for the light heavyweight category belt. In addition to the title fight, only the duel between Saffiedine and Ellenberger has already been announced for the fight night card.
