Anderson Silva is not the only MMA athlete who wants to face Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match. After several statements from the former UFC middleweight champion about a possible confrontation, this time it was Chris Lytle who challenged the American veteran.

Lytle, 40 years old, recently retired from MMA. In more than ten years in mixed martial arts, he has competed in more than 50 fights, achieving 31 wins, 18 losses and five draws. In the UFC, where he fought for much of his career, he faced names like Matt hugs, Matt Serra, Robbie Lawler and Thiago “Pitbull” Alves.

Coming from boxing, Lytle stated that Jones would not be able to keep up with his pace. “After three or four rounds, I think he will deal with the fact that he has been boxing for 30 years, and his pace will drop. From then on, I would set my own pace and start to dominate it. I don’t see him knocking me out, so I think it would be a tough night for Roy,” he said, in an interview with the North American website Bloody Elbow.

For Lytle, it would make more sense for Jones to face him rather than a fight between him and Anderson Silva. “I can't think of anyone else connected to the UFC or MMA that would make more sense [to fight Jones]. I had a record of 13 wins, one loss and one draw in boxing, and I beat some guys who were promising. I only stopped because of MMA,” he continued.

A boxing veteran, Jones is currently 45 years old. His professional boxing record is 56 wins (40 by knockout) and eight losses, having won world titles in several weight categories.
