Mauritius Shogun should return to the UFC Octagon between April and May 2014. At least this is the intention of his manager, Leonardo Salomão, who told the SUPER FIGHTS that negotiations regarding the Curitiba native's next fight have not yet started.
After suffering two consecutive defeats, Alexander Gustafson e Chael Sonnen, Shogun recovered with class in December, with a stunning knockout of New Zealander James Te Huna at UFC Fight Night 33, in Australia.
“The UFC hasn’t offered us any opponents yet, but our intention is to make the fight happen between April or May,” said Salomão.
Some rumors linked the former UFC champion to the event that will be held in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, on March 23rd. However, Salomão denied this when asked about the matter, stating that the fighter would not be prepared to return on this date, which would mean his return to the Octagon would take place in the following months.
However, the businessman confirmed that Shogun will continue to prepare in São Paulo. For the fight against Te Huna, the Brazilian trained at the Demian Maia, UFC welterweight athlete.
