Michael Bisping, out of fights since the end of 2013 due to an injury, revealed that he is now cleared to train and that, now, his goal is to return to the UFC in April.

The Englishman was scheduled to face Mark Muñoz at UFC Fight Night 30, in October last year, but was forced to withdraw from the fight after suffering a detached retina in his right eye. After undergoing surgeries, Bisping stated that he is fully recovered. “I'm going through quite a period with my eye, as my retina detached and I had some complications. I had a few surgeries, but the eye is stable now and the doctors are happy with my current situation. It will never be like before, but I am now free to train”, he commented, in an interview with the North American website Sherdog.

As much as he recognizes that his vision will not be what it used to be, Bisping declared that the situation will not stop him from performing at his best. “My vision has been affected, but it doesn't bother me when I'm training. It changed my depth perception, like when, for example, I pick up a pen, but it doesn't hinder me in training. And I’m not an idiot – if I wasn’t ready to step into the octagon, I wouldn’t do it,” he clarified.

For his return, Bisping once again asked for Tim Kennedy, with whom he has been exchanging public challenges in recent months. “I've been talking to the UFC and I want to return in April. Hopefully it will be against Tim Kennedy, who has been challenging me for a long time and is driving me crazy, to be honest. I’ll finally be able to shut him up,” he stated.
