The fighter from Rio will face Japanese Kiichi Kunimoto at UFC Fight Night 34, in Singapore. Confident, Besouro says he knows the profile of his opponent and promises to start 2014 well.
“I know his game, the type of fight he does. My team and I studied his weapons, I know he has good results, but that doesn't make a difference. I will impose my fighting style and win. I've waited a long time for this debut, and I won't disappoint my fans”, he guarantees.
Besouro's debut in the UFC is surrounded by expectations after excellent performances in the second season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brasil. In the program, he overcame two opponents, but was forced to leave the competition after injuring his hand in the second duel, when he submitted Pedro Iriê. Fully recovered from his injury and the psychological trauma of leaving the program, the Brazilian has audacious plans at the biggest MMA event in the world.
“When I left TUF, I was devastated. But I talked a lot with my family and friends and thought a lot alone. This helped me a lot. Even with all the difficulties, I was already sure there was something in store for me. Soon after, the UFC called, and then it was just joy. I’m just arriving at the event, but I want to be the champion”, he reveals.
