Benson Henderson predicts he will have a hectic fight from start to finish at UFC on Fox 10, when he will face Josh thomson. As this is the main fight of the event, the lightweights will fight for five rounds, and the former champion of the category believes that the pace presented will be frenetic.
“You will see both of us giving our best. I can fight for 25 minutes and have done so, as has he. And we do it with a strong rhythm – we're not talking about 25 slow minutes, as we sometimes see with the heavyweights, when they just lay on top of each other. I’m talking about a quick, hectic fight, where both fighters are looking to fight,” said Henderson, in an interview with the UFC’s official website.
Henderson considers that he and his rival are complete fighters, which opens up the possibility of the fight taking place both on the feet and on the ground. “He's been improving his wrestling for a long time and I've been improving my striking for a long time. We are both good in all areas. We may not be great in one specific area, but we are solid in all of them,” he commented. “Fans will see a real MMA fight. Sometimes a fight lasts 25 minutes in striking, but this is a kickboxing fight. I'm talking about an MMA fight between Josh and me. We will go to the ground, we will be pressed against the fence, we will fight standing up, we will do everything”, concluded the former champion.
UFC on Fox 10 will take place on January 25th in Chicago, United States. Also highlights of the night are the fights between Gabriel Napao e Stipe Miocic and between Adriano Martins and Donald Cerrone.
