Due to the recent acquisition of other events and the swelling of its squad, Ultimate has systematically fired athletes who present a negative sequence of results. Therefore, many fighters tend to get worried when they start to rack up defeats. But not Bobby Voelker. Even coming off two consecutive defeats, the North American has plenty of confidence for the duel against the Brazilian William Patolino at UFC 168 and shows absolute certainty that he will emerge victorious.

“Of course there is this pressure. But it doesn't matter because I trained really hard for this fight. It's impossible for him to hit me. He doesn't stand a chance against me. He is a strong and tough fighter, but I am stronger and tougher. Many fighters do what he does. I'm not putting him down, everyone has a chance to beat anyone. But he doesn’t impress me in any way,” said Voelker, in an interview with the “MMA Junkie” website.

To ensure victory, “Vicious”, as he is known, already seems to know exactly what to do: control his opponent's momentum in the first few minutes and tire him out throughout the fight. “He (Patolino) is a young fighter, so the main thing you have to worry about is that they are really very explosive. Younger fighters feel like they are Superman. But after this quick explosion, they get tired and realize how difficult, tiring a fight is and that it won’t be easy,” he concluded.

TUF Brasil 2 finalist William “Patolino” Macário faces Bobby Voelker on the preliminary card of UFC 168. The event takes place on December 28th, at MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In the main fight of the night, the Brazilian Anderson Silva tries to regain the middleweight belt against his tormentor Chris Weidman, in one of the most anticipated rematches in Ultimate history. In the co-main match, the TUF 18 coaches Miesha Tate e Ronda Rousey compete for the women's bantamweight title.
