Stage of the most recent edition of Brasil Fight, based in the city of Divinópolis in October, Minas Gerais hosts this Thursday (19) the selective for the organization's eighth event, which takes place in March 2014. From 19 pm (time Brasília), in the capital Belo Horizonte, six fights make up the “Brasil Fight – Seletiva 2014” card. The event takes place at Academia Champion and brings twelve athletes face to face looking to secure their places in the next qualifier for Brasil Fight 8. Furthermore, a superfight between veteran Joaquim Mamute and the promising Túlio Viana, coming from muay thai, is scheduled to close the night.
Rodrigo Moreira, organizer of the event, believes that the benefit of the promotion is mutual, both for the organization, which increases the level and competitiveness of its cards, and for the athletes, who seek the opportunity to stand out on the national scene. “We give the opportunity to young talents who seek to stand out in MMA and want to have space in the cage from Brasil Fight. The qualifiers help to further raise the level of our editions’ cards. The quality of the fighters is very good, and I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. The public can expect a great night of fights,” he said.
This is not the first time that Brasil Fight has promoted a selection for its events. In 2011, the organization had already held an elimination tournament that gave the winners a place on its roster of fighters. For athletes still waiting for a chance, another edition of “Brasil Fight – Seletiva” is scheduled for January, also with the aim of making up the Brasil Fight 8 card.
