UFC fighter Matt Grice undergoes surgery and has part of his skull reconstructed

32-year-old athlete suffered a serious car accident in September

Even after suffering a serious car accident and having part of his skull removed by doctors in order to alleviate brain swelling, Matt Grice finally underwent reconstruction surgery at the scene. The procedure, called cranioplasty, was performed successfully in the United States. Grice himself commented, with good humor, on the operation.

“I'm not sure if I was in a UFC fight or if I had another brain surgery (laughs). My eyes can tell,” Matt wrote on his Facebook profile. Twitter. Grice's accident happened on September 8th. At the time, the fighter was in his car stopped at a traffic light and was hit from behind by another vehicle.

At 32 years old, Matt Grice has a record of 15 wins and five losses. Due to the accident, the featherweight was removed from the UFC 166 card, on October 19, in which he would face Jeremy Larsen. Despite the expectations of Grice, who comments on social media about his desire to fight again, a possible return to the Octagon is not yet considered for the American.
