Little by little, things start to align so that Anderson Silva face boxer Roy Jones Jr. – a declared dream of the former UFC middleweight champion. This Sunday (08), UFC president Dana White stipulated his conditions to promote the fight and demanded the same compensation already requested by Roy Jones: Spider must win Chris Weidman on the 28rd of December.
“He (Anderson) said it’s his biggest dream, he’s been thinking about it since he was a child. We have to make it happen. If Anderson Silva win Chris Weidman, we'll do this boxing match, which is what he wants. If he wins and becomes champion again, I have to be prepared, because he will come to me to talk about it. I want to give Anderson whatever he asks for. The truth is, these two drive me crazy. Roy Jones Jr. has been a friend of mine for many years. When I was 19 and training boxing, Roy Jones was really nice to me. Today I see that Roy wants to fight Anderson, and Anderson wants to fight Roy. My task is to try to make these two guys happy. But it all drives me crazy. What I really wanted was for Roy to focus on his next opponent and for Anderson to do the same. But I know what they are like, and Roy really wants this fight. Let's see what happens". Dana said on the North American TV program “FOX Sports Live”.
The director also commented on Anderson's statements about the mistakes he made in the first fight against Weidman. “I talked to Anderson about this for some time, and he thinks he lost because of the position of his feet, and he thinks that if they had been in a different position none of this would have happened. How to question Anderson Silva? He is a master! He lost a fight and was crushed by a sea of criticism from people who think they know what they are talking about. Look what this guy achieved in his career. Maybe it really was a wrong foot movement. Let's find out on December 28th. Before thinking about a super fight against Roy Jones Jr., Anderson Silva has one of the most important rematches in Ultimate history ahead of him. On December 28th, in Las Vegas (USA), Spider finds his something again Chris Weidman in the main fight of UFC 168. Six days earlier, Jones Jr. faces Russian Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf. Recently, the boxer declared that he accepted the fight precisely to prepare for a possible fight against Anderson.
