In style, Shogun knocks out Te Huna and finds his way back to winning ways in the UFC

Brazilian needed just over a minute to knock out rival at UFC Fight Night 33, in Australia

ShogunThe Brazilian Mauricio Shogun It took just over a minute to shake off the bad phase. Coming off two consecutive defeats and threatened with dismissal by UFC president Dana White, the former light heavyweight champion knocked out James Te Huna in sensational fashion. The duel was the second most important fight of UFC Fight Night 33, an event that takes place this Friday (06), in Brisbane, Australia.

The fight

Unlike his last performances, Mauricio Shogun entered the duel on. Once again accompanied by his brother Murilo Ninja in his corner, who was away in his last fights, the Brazilian started the fight with good movement. Shogun dodging Te Huna's attacks and responding to attacks was always efficient.

After quickly finding the distance, Mauricio ended the fight in sensational fashion. When the Australian entered the range of action to unleash a left blow, he ended up caught in the counterattack. With a hook, Shogun hit his rival's chin and he fell to the ground.

Even with James Te Huna already unconscious, the Brazilian still landed another blow on his opponent on the ground and left to celebrate the triumph.

In the interview after the fight still in the Octagon, Shogun did not hide his happiness at finding his way back to victory. The former light heavyweight champion thanked his fans, team, family and told how he ended the fight. “I imagined he was going to look for the clinch and it was there (when Te Huna closed the distance) that I caught him,” said the Brazilian.

The premiere of Beth Pitbull in the UFC it was in style. The Brazilian had a balanced fight against Julie Kedzie and after 15 minutes of fighting, she won a split decision from the judges.

The only women's fight of the night started off evenly. Kedzie works with stomps, while the Brazilian dominated the center of the octagon and applied some jabs to measure the distance. In the second half of the initial stage, the Brazilian tried to loosen the game and tried to open the game, applying two good overhands.

In the second round, the American landed a beautiful cross and shook Bethe. But quick on the trigger, the Paraíba native put her rival against the bars and maintained control of the fight.

With the dispute balanced, the third round would be important to define the fight. And the Brazilian was the one who came out on top. Pitbull took the initiative and sought a fight against Kedzie. Bethe combined good kicks and punches and even managed a takedown to gain the advantage.

In the end, victory Beth Pitbull in the judges' split decision (29×28, 28×29, 29×28). Without hiding her emotion, the Brazilian knelt in the octagon and was in tears.

    You can see from the replay that the 2nd punch that Shogun throws when Te Huna doesn't hit his opponent... at the “h” time he punched the ground, that is, he didn't land any blows with him unconscious.
