Dana White, president of the UFC, denied the coach of Georges St Pierre, Kristof Midoux, and stated that he did not watch the fight between the Canadian and the last challenger for his belt again, John hendricks.
The UFC boss was one of the biggest opponents of the referees' controversial decision on November 16th. After a five-round fight, GSP was named the winner, although much of the public thought Hendricks was better in the fight. With this, White spared no criticism of what happened.
However, Midoux, one of St. Pierre's oldest coaches, stated that the president recanted in a phone call to the Canadian, stating that he had watched the fight again and recognized that the champion had the better of it.
White, however, refuted the statements and took the opportunity to needle Midoux. “I heard that, but no, it's not true. I haven't watched the fight [again] yet. This guy [Midoux] is like one of the new Kardashian sisters: he came out of nowhere and now he's everywhere,” she stated.
The president reaffirmed that he intends to see GSP defend his belt again against Hendricks, despite the champion having expressed his desire to retire from fighting for an indefinite period of time. “I'm not forcing Georges to do anything, but I want him to defend his title. He was already out for a year to have knee surgery, so if people have a problem [with the opinion], I don't care if they like it or not,” he pointed out.
