Brazilian standout in welterweight (up to 77kg.), Gilbert Durinho confirmed that he has an agreement with Ultimate to face Jorge masvidal. The duel, which is still being negotiated, was suggested by the Niteroi native to take place in UFC 283 on January 21st, on the organization's return to Brazil.
“Nothing done yet – lots of talk about the fight with Masvidal – he has verbally agreed. Me too. They are just finding out the date. No date yet. November was very close, then December or January. At least I know I have an opponent. Just finding out the date now. First it would be at Madison Square Garden, in November. But he denied the date. Now in December or January, I can wait another 20 days to go to Brazil. I'm looking forward to going to the Brazilian card”, said Durinho in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.
