Marlon Vera reveals that he was inspired by Pedro Munhoz to surprise Dominick Cruz with a brutal knockout

great highlight of UFC San Diego, held this Saturday (13), in the United States, Marlon Vera revealed that he was inspired by Peter Munhoz for overwhelming victory over Dominick Cruz. In a press conference after his triumph, the Ecuadorian admitted to having found the loophole based on an image received from the confrontation between the Brazilian and the North American, at the end of 2021.

“Six days ago, my coach sent me an image that showed Munhoz kicking his (Cruz) body. His (Cruz's) head was tilted. My coach didn't say anything. Just sent the image. I looked and thought: 'I understand what you mean”, said Vera.

Marlon's attack on Dominick happened in the fourth round. Before, the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) delivered a convincing performance, but ended up being surprised by a high kick, which put him out immediately.

With the result, Vera expands her great career phase. Now, the Ecuadorian has four consecutive victories and remains consolidated in the top 5 of the division led by aljamain sterling.
