Days away from one of the biggest challenges in his career as a professional in MMA, Iasmin Lucindo surprised by revealing the reasons that led her to martial arts. In conversation with the press at 'half day', promoting the UFC San Diego, which takes place this Saturday (13), the Brazilian stated that she joined the sport due to incidents involving domestic violence, specifically with her mother. The Ceará native debuts with the company this weekend.
I started when I was 14 years old. I made my professional debut when I turned 14. I started training because of my family, who suffered aggression. I started training to defend myself. Personal defense, but I ended up liking it and went to fight. I'm still here today”, said the strawweight (up to 56,7kg).

After the statement, Lucindo was asked who in the family had suffered domestic violence. The fighter then explained that it was her mother, Vaneide.
About a month ago, Iasmin gave more details about the family drama experienced in the past. In a special matter, the combatant stated that her father was the aggressor.
This Saturday, Lucindo will perform for millions of Ultimate viewers around the world. At the UFC San Diego, the athlete faces Yazmin Jauregui, in a clash on the main card.
Professional in MMA since 2017, Iasmin has 17 appearances in the sport. At 20 years old, the fighter has 13 wins and four losses.
Responsible for trying to 'spoil the party' for the Brazilian, Jauregui returns to the octagon in UFC San Diego after a year of inactivity. The 23-year-old fighter doesn't know what it's like to lose in eight commitments.
