UFC President Dana White had a birthday on July 28th and received an unexpected message. In a post-Contender Series press conference, which took place last Tuesday (2), the president stated that Chris Cyborg sent congratulations and heated up speculation about a possible rapprochement, after 'feuds' that marked the Brazilian's time in Ultimate.

“Being honest with you, I normally don't talk about this s*** publicly. But she (Chris Cyborg) sent me a message and wished me a happy birthday. It was kind. It's not like Cyborg and I hate each other and I'm not trying to be cruel to her. I wish her the best in whatever she is doing. It was nice of her to send me a birthday message. So I just wanted to reiterate that I'm not talking bad about her,” Dana said.

Featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.), Cyborg has just one fight left on her current contract with Bellator and seems to be exploring possible paths for her future. Cris even spoke out after the victory of Amanda nunes about Julianna Pena last Saturday (30th).

When asked about the possibility, Dana said that it would be easier to promote a 'Lioness' trilogy with Valentina Shevchenko e ruled out a rematch between the compatriots, as the Bahian would have dominated and knocked out the Curitiba native in the first meeting, while still in the company.

History of feuds

Chris Cyborg He was in the UFC for just over three years and, in addition to winning the inaugural featherweight title (up to 65,7kg), his time there was marked by a conflictual relationship with Dana White. The Brazilian woman publicly complained about the president's comments, who even called her 'Wanderlei Silva in skirts'. She has also mocked the payment of athletes, when participating in a music video for Jake Paul, in which he appeared 'signing' a contract to receive 12 thousand dollars for each appearance in the Octagon.

The relationship deteriorated over time and culminated in the Brazilian's release, without contract renewal. For Ultimate, she had seven fights, with six wins and only one defeat – precisely against Amanda nunes – before following his path in Bellator. Still, Cyborg dreams of a rematch and has already said that he will 'never be far away' from his compatriot.

The path continued and, at Bellator, the Curitiba native also followed a successful path. In the organization chaired by Scott Coker, there have been four consecutive victories and possession of the UFC's rival company's featherweight belt. The Brazilian currently has a record of 25 triumphs and two setbacks in professional MMA.
