'New McGregor', Paddy Pimblett explains drama in his fights: 'I like taking punches'

In three fights in the UFC, the lightweight prospect (up to 70,3kg) Paddy Pimblett has become accustomed to going through 'drama' in his fights in the organization. In an interview with 'The Pat McAfee Show' channel, the British fighter was self-critical, admitted that he didn't like his performance in his last fight and revealed that he 'likes being punched in the face' and that this motivates him in combat.

“I was disappointed with my performance (against Jordan Leavitt), I felt like I should have gone in there and finished that guy off, even though he ended the fight later. But I can always fight like this. I like getting punched and punching people in the face. It sounds really weird, but I like it,” Pimblett said.

Considered one of the greatest prospects in world MMA, Paddy arrived at the UFC with enormous 'hype' and boasting of having been a former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) at the Cage Warriors event. Signed by Ultimate in 2021, the British prospect competed in three fights with the organization's gloves and beat Luigi Vendramini, Rodrigo kazula vargas e Jordan Leavitt, respectively. At 27 years old, the 'New McGregor' has a record of 19 triumphs and three setbacks as a mixed martial arts professional.
