Irish star praises Brazilian legend's performance at UFC 277, who regained bantamweight belt in rematch with Julianna Peña

The irreparable performance of Amanda nunes No. UFC 277 drew praise from Conor McGregor. A popular phenomenon in mixed martial arts, McGregor began his rivalry with Nate diaz in 2016, when the North American took over as the then lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) Rafael dos Anjos, who, injured, left the commitment. The fight was not valid for a UFC belt, and was fought at welterweight, but, even so, it went down in the company's history due to the unexpected victory of 'bad boy'.

The rematch, held months later, was marked by balance. After five rounds, the 'Notório' was declared the winner.

Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Nunes stepped into the Octagon of UFC 277 about seven months later the stumble in front of the 'zebra' Julianna Pena. Willing to retake the rooster throne, the Bahian woman did so in style, controlling her opponent and winning with a unanimous decision from the judges.

With the victory, Amanda returns to the absolute top of the category she led between 2016 and 2021. In addition to the victory, the Brazilian regains her status as double champion of the organization, as she also holds the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.).
