After confirming and showing excitement for the confrontation between Nate diaz e Khamzat Shimaev, which are faced in the UFC 279, Dana White countered critics who judged the fight to be unbalanced. In a message addressed mainly to Leon edwards and commentator Dan Hardy, the president of Ultimate, responded to those who disapprove of the fight.

“I love it when fighters or other people give advice in this successful business we have built. Make me laugh. I was thinking about a fight for Diaz against Francis Ngannou ou Khamzat Shimaev, and others that might not be so good (for North Americans). I opted for Khamzat,” said White, in an interview with 'Yahoo Sports'.

Criticized for authorizing the clash, which could lead to an abuse of veteran Nate, when exposed to one of the biggest names in the company's current squad, Dana didn't shy away. The 'big boss' stated that the fight will continue in planning and indicated that he does not count on the critics' audience.

"Leon edwards, Dan Hardy or anyone else never negotiated anything with the Diaz brothers. It's a unique experience. It takes so long***. We've been through that and we're here. It's a fight that people want to watch. Dan Hardy and Leon edwards you don't need to watch. They can go to the cinema on the day of the event,” she concluded.
