the focus of Brandon Moreno is to be active and fight for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg.), even despite the reign of Deiveson Figueiredo. On the eve of the fight in UFC 277 which defines the interim title against Kai Kara France, the Mexican declared that he does not want to wait for a quadrilogy against the Brazilian and, if he wins the momentary position, he can defend it against another athlete in the division.

“I don’t care about Deiveson. My personal plan is to be healthy for this fight. If nothing bad happens and I'm not injured, my plan is to fight in December before the end of the year. If Deiveson is not ready, I can fight the winner this Saturday, (Alexandre) Pantoja x (Alex) Perez, easily,” said Moreno on 'half day'.

Despite holding the category belt, Deiveson still has no scheduled date for his return after a hand injury and is flirting with the possibility of moving up to bantamweight (up to 61,2kg).

Brandon is now adjusting the final details for a rematch with Kara-France, having already beaten him in December 2019, in a unanimous decision by the judges. Since then, Moreno has seen action five times, with three wins, one draw and a single defeat. During this period, the Mexican became flyweight champion by winning Deiveson Figueiredo, but lost the belt in the trilogy against the Brazilian.
